The 27th International Congress on Glass (ICG 2025) was held in India from January 20 - 24, 2025. Professor HU Lili from Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics was awarded the ICG 2025 President's Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions and research achievements in the science and technology of special glasses. She was the third Chinese scholar to receive this prestigious honor since its establishment in 1995. The previous two were academician GAN Fuxi from Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics and academician PENG Shou from China National Building Material Group Corporation.

　　The ICG president’s award was established in 1995 to recognize outstanding lifetime contributions to the international glass community in areas such as scientific discoveries, engineering developments, artistic accomplishments leadership and communications.
